Floor Tiles

The most visible additions to the Fukumatsu Residence would be the floor textures on the ground level. Most of the floor is finished with high quality stone tile in a variety of designs. The majority of the floor is a octogon+square tile pattern that is interrupted by a compass rose set in a circular pattern beneath the foyer dome. This pattern continued down the hall where it is mostly covered with a rich carpet similar to the runner descending down the grand staircase.

The tile type changes into a different going down into the ballroom. The tiles are smaller and warmer to make for a more intimate space.
